Business Intelligence and Process Analyst Pittsburgh, PA

Student Financial Services (SFS) is a unit within the Controllers Office which is part of Finance & Operations at the University of Pittsburgh. The Controllers Office is responsible for internal and external financial reporting budgeting tax matters accounting capital structure and student financial services.

SFS oversees student billing payment processing and payment technology operations serving undergraduate and graduate students across all campuses of the University. This position sits directly within SFS and serves as an embedded technology and business analysis resource supporting the operational and data needs of the department.

Works with business groups to solve more complex problems using technology. Analyzes advanced business needs and evaluates complex business processes to recommend process enhancements. Assists in helping junior and more senior business analysts with complex projects.

• Analyzes complex business needs and evaluates business processes to identify gaps inefficiencies and opportunities for technology-driven improvements.

• Develops and maintains comprehensive business requirements documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

• Collaborates with business groups and project teams to translate business needs into technical solutions and process enhancements.

• Escalates issues that may impact project timelines and seeks guidance from senior analysts when addressing unexpected challenges.

• Assists junior and senior business analysts on complex projects providing support across assigned areas.

Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to use a computer keyboard and mouse for extended periods. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Occasional lifting of materials or equipment up to 10 pounds may be required.
