The Business Development Representative (BDR) is the growth engine of Early Express responsible for identifying and engaging new business prospects through targeted cold outreach and pipeline development. This person is on the front lines of expanding our client base researching potential clients initiating conversations and qualifying opportunities that set the sales team up to close.
This is a high-activity results-driven role best suited for someone who thrives on making connections handles rejection well and is motivated by building something from scratch. You will work closely with the Client Success Manager to align outreach efforts with company growth targets and ensure a consistent flow of qualified opportunities into the pipeline.
WHAT YOULL OWN
Execute high-volume outbound prospecting via cold calls email sequences and LinkedIn outreach to generate new business opportunities.
Research and identify target accounts across industries that are strong fits for Early Express print mail and fulfillment services.
Qualify inbound and outbound leads by understanding prospect needs timelines and decision-making processes.
Schedule discovery calls and meetings for the Client Success Manager with qualified prospects.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all outreach activity prospect data and pipeline status in HubSpot.
Follow up persistently and strategically with prospects through multi-touch outreach sequences.
Collaborate with the Client Success Manager to refine messaging targeting and outreach strategy based on results.
Meet or exceed weekly and monthly activity and pipeline targets.
Participate in CardoneU sales training and meetings
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
Non-Negotiables
13 years of experience in a BDR SDR or outbound sales role or a strong track record in a high-activity outreach-driven position.
Comfortable with cold calling and initiating conversations with decision-makers at all levels.
Experience using HubSpot
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling outreach messages.
Self-motivated goal-oriented and able to manage a high volume of daily outreach activity.
Organized and detail-oriented with experience using a CRM to track activity and pipeline.
Resilient and coachable able to handle rejection and iterate based on feedback.
Nice to Have
Familiarity with the print mail or fulfillment industry.
Experience selling B2B services to marketing operations or procurement contacts.
Exposure to outreach tools such as Apollo Outreach Salesloft or similar platforms.
Track record of consistently meeting or exceeding activity and pipeline quotas.
HOW SUCCESS IS MEASURED
Number of qualified meetings booked per week/month
Outbound activity volume calls emails and LinkedIn touches per day
Lead-to-meeting conversion rate
Pipeline contribution total value of opportunities sourced by the BDR
CRM hygiene and accuracy of prospect records
FIELD REQUIREMENTS
Primarily performed in an office environment.
Occasional attendance at industry events trade shows or client sites may be required.
May occasionally be required to lift items up to 25 pounds.
GROWTH OPPORTUNITY
The BDR role is a direct pathway into a full-cycle sales or account management position at Early Express. High performers who consistently build pipeline and demonstrate strong client communication skills will be considered for advancement into Client Success or Business Development roles as the company grows.
