Reports To

VP of Strategic Partnerships & Events

$25 hourly full time plus uncapped commission providing strong earning potential based on performance. Employees also receive a comprehensive benefits package including paid vacation.

Typical year 1 all in comp $85k - $100k/year.

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Sales Executive to join our team. This individual will be responsible for developing and nurturing strong relationships with local businesses to promote and sell memberships sponsorship packages and marketing services. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator who is passionate about community engagement and helping businesses thrive.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of a Business Development Associate include but are not limited to:

  • Prospecting: Identifying and qualifying potential new partners through networking lead generation and market research.
  • Relationship building: Establishing rapport with business owners and decision-makers to understand their needs and concerns.
  • Sales presentations: Presenting the value proposition of partnership highlighting benefits like networking opportunities business exposure and community involvement.
  • Closing sales: Negotiating packages and securing commitments from potential partners.
  • Account management: Maintaining relationships with existing partners addressing their needs and renewing partners.
  • Event planning: Participating in events to promote partnership and connect with potential clients.
  • Data management: Tracking sales activity maintaining accurate customer information within the CRM system.

Knowledge Skill and Abilities Requirements

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors degree in marketing communications business administration or a related field

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years demonstrated experience (e.g. internships previous roles) in sales development from initial discovery to closing the sale
  • Experience with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook etc.) is preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with small to medium sized businesses
  • Strong sales acumen and closing ability
  • Proficient in networking and relationship building skills
  • Knowledge of the local business landscape and community
  • Ability to develop and tailor sales presentations to individual business needs
  • Must be able to work collaboratively within a team-driven environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work some evenings and some weekends.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
