Job Summary
The Business and HR Manager serves as a strategic and operational partner responsible for the communitys business office human resources operations employee relations compliance programs financial reporting and administrative partnership with community leadership this role ensures accurate financial management workforce support regulatory compliance employee engagement and operational excellence.
This position does have direct supervisory responsibilities and directly oversees Reception while also providing functional oversight and support to other administrative staff as addition to supervisory duties the role serves as a coach advisor and mentor to employees and leaders throughout the community fostering a positive and productive work environment. The position partners closely with department leaders to support employee performance engagement professional development and accountability helping to drive operational excellence and strengthen the overall employee experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Office
- Performs journal entries account reconciliations and month-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Oversee accounts payable operations vendor management invoice approvals purchase card administration and payment processing.
- Manage resident accounts receivable rent roll reconciliation billing accuracy collections efforts aging reviews and account maintenance.
- Administer payroll processing payroll funding labor reporting and workers compensation financial tracking.
- Monitor operating performance against budget and provide financial analysis to support decision making to Executive Director.
- Ensure compliance with company policies accounting standards regulatory requirements audits and documentation retention requirements.
- Supervise front office administrative functions collaborate with department leaders and support a customer-focused environment for residents families employees and vendors.
Human Resources
- Serve as a trusted advisor to community leaders by providing coaching guidance and support related to employee relations performance management policy interpretation and workforce challenges.
- Lead all community human resources operations including onboarding personnel file administration employee status changes benefits administration and compliance with federal state and local employment laws.
- Conduct and support employee relations investigations corrective action processes conflict resolution and performance improvement initiatives while minimizing organizational risk.
- Ensure the accuracy integrity and compliance of financial and payroll records by conducting audits reconciliations and maintaining appropriate documentation and controls.
- Collaborate closely with Corporate Human Resources Payroll Accounting Talent Acquisition and Risk Management teams to drive the successful implementation of organizational initiatives ensure consistent application of policies and procedures and serve as a change champion by promoting adoption of new programs processes and business objectives.
- Administer workers compensation safety incident reporting return-to-work programs OSHA documentation and regulatory compliance activities to support a safe work environment.
- Monitor operational workforce and financial metrics; analyze trends; and provide recommendations that support community performance employee engagement and business objectives.
- Coordinate employee engagement recognition training and development initiatives that strengthen culture support retention and promote organizational effectiveness.
- Promote the organizations mission values and service culture while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism ethics confidentiality and customer service.

Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration Accounting Finance or related field preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in human resources payroll administration business office management and accounting.
- Experience in senior living healthcare hospitality country club or service oriented industries preferred.
- Professional certifications such as PHR SHRM-CP SHRM-SCP or related accounting certifications are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Comprehensive understanding of human resources practices employment laws employee relations and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and decision making skills.
- Excellent verbal written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong customer service orientation and relationship building skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using HRIS payroll accounting and performance management systems such as ADP Yardi Lattice Schedule Pop and related software platforms.
