Job Summary
Wilkes University invites applicants for a Business Analyst in the Finance Department. This position supports the institutions financial operations through accurate reporting analysis and compliance helping to ensure strong fiscal stewardship and provide data-driven insights to academic and administrative units. This position reports to the Director of Treasury and Student Accounts.
The successful candidate is responsible for preparing monthly and annual financial reports and variance analyses; supporting accounting and student billing through reconciliations and journal entries; partnering with the Director of Treasury and Student Accounts the Registrar and Financial Aid Office to effectively communicate with students regarding past due balances financial aid awards and registration changes affecting overall balances; assisting with month-end and year-end close activities; and providing documentation for annual audits and regulatory reporting.
A bachelors degree is required (can be met with appropriate experience). The ideal candidate will have prior experience in accounting financial analysis and/or student receivables preferably in higher education or nonprofit accounting along with knowledge of fund accounting strong Microsoft Excel skills and excellent attention to detail organization teamwork and communication skills. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
