The Policy Migration organization is seeking a skilled Business Analyst who under general supervision will elicit analyze validate and document detailed business operational and system requirements supporting the migration of policies from legacy policy administration systems onto the Companys single target policy administration this opportunity you will be responsible for understanding the needs of business partners and stakeholders across the conversion process target system build and downstream systems to ensure that solutions to business and/or system problems and opportunities are aligned to the needs of the migration program. You will be able to devise or modify procedures to solve moderately complex problems which include analysis of business and user needs documentation of requirements and translating into proper business and/or system requirements. This individual will communicate verify and gain approvals of the requirements from stakeholders.

The Business Analyst position sits within the Policy Migration team which is responsible for moving policies off legacy policy administration systems and onto a single target platform. This work spans three core areas: the conversion process which extracts policy data from source systems transforms it through an ETL layer and delivers it to the target system via transaction files before the target system cycles policies up to current values and the team audits and balances source data against target; target system modifications needed to support new and existing products being added to the platform; and changes to downstream and supporting systems that depend on the target system. The Business Analyst works closely with Actuaries ETL and Conversion Developers Target System Developers vendors and the Project Managers leading each of these work areas to devise or solve complex problems considering business and/or system limitations timelines and desired results.

As a Business Analyst on the Policy Migration team youll have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic work group supporting one of the Companys largest ongoing initiatives and be responsible for eliciting business requirements performing gap analyses across source and target systems understanding technical dependencies testing and helping to envision creative solutions to both business and technical migration challenges. Our ideal candidate is detail oriented with an analytical background and business knowledge of policy administration systems and MM Life Annuity and Disability Income Products.

• Formulate and define business and/or system scope and objectives for policy conversion target system or downstream system workstreams based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable industry and regulatory requirements including the ability to facilitate and document business system requirements.
• Devise or modify conversion rules mapping logic or system procedures to solve complex problems arising between legacy source systems and the target policy administration platform considering business and/or system limitations operating time and form of desired results.
• Provide analysis of business and user needs documentation of requirements and translation into proper business and/or system requirements for extraction ETL transaction file or target system conversion logic.
• Guide and advise less-experienced Business Analysts supporting conversion target system or downstream system workstreams.
• Competent to work at the highest technical level of most phases of policy migration analysis while considering the business implications of new products and functionality being added to the target system.
• Understand business and technology needs and formulate technical requirements for the development team building new target system functionality to support migrated and newly created products.
• Assure data calculation and regulatory correctness across the conversion and cycle-up process including auditing and balancing converted policy data between source and target systems.
• Learn the conversion logic cycle-up methodology and calculations used across the source and target policy administration systems.
• Identify and provide assistance with problem resolution working with ETL and conversion developers target system developers and business analysts.
• Participate in meetings with policy administration system vendors on new functionality needed to support migrated products.
• Consult with business partners and IT teams to resolve issues identified during conversion testing audit and balance or production.
• Participate in test planning development and execution for conversion testing integration testing and application testing of new target system functionality.
• Understand technical dependencies across the conversion process target system and downstream systems and help to envision creative solutions to migration challenges.
• Negotiate and influence requirements direction across conversion target system and downstream system workstreams.
• Lead/consult on escalated conversion or production support issues and root cause analysis.
• Assist other team members (Business and Technology) with understanding conversion target system and downstream system requirements.
• Ability to operate independently on multiple project tasks and deliver in a fast-paced environment supporting complex high-volume policy migrations.
• Participate in all phases of migration project planning development and testing including audit and balance activities.
• Demonstrate accountability agility a dedication to be inclusive a strong business acumen and will show courage even in the most difficult situations.

• Strong analytical background with experience analyzing and reconciling policy or financial data (math/data background a plus)
• Experience with data comparison and reconciliation tools (e.g. Beyond Compare) Excel SQL and file/data management tools
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment and manage multiple migration workstreams at once
• Ability to own and drive business analysis for a migration workstream and lead business analysis across multiple parallel conversion projects
• Ability to brainstorm and research/resolve data and conversion issues creatively to meet migration timelines and long-term strategy

• Experience eliciting and drafting business requirements for policy conversions and can perform requirements management planning for large-scale migration projects
• Previous experience working with Policy Administration Systems Product and Distribution teams and Operational support functions
• Provide project support on an as-needed basis to help set direction based on customer/agent experience as well as internal system capabilities
• Ability to consult internally to help migration initiatives set direction regarding future target system capabilities
• Ability to represent as a leader in both a business and technology capacity across conversion target system or downstream system workstreams
• Data reconciliation and audit/balance testing skills
• Highly organized collaborative individual comfortable working across multiple parallel migration projects
• Experience using LLMs such as Claude to review/analyze large amounts of legacy documentation
• Experience with WMA (target platform managed by DXC)
• JIRA experience
• SQL/data analytics skills
• Some AWS exposure

• Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience

• 5 years of experience in a business analysis role ideally supporting policy administration system conversions or large-scale data migrations
• 2 years of experience as a technical liaison between business partners policy administration system vendors and IT/ETL development teams
• 2 years of Agile project delivery experience

• Insurance industry experience (P&C experience can be considered; life/annuity/disability knowledge is not mandatory)
• Migration experience (helpful/beneficial but not strictly required)
• Policy administration system experience (helpful not required)
