Job Summary

Job role: Business Analyst

Location: 4 days onsite 1 day remote in Newark CA

Duration: Long Term Contract

This role looks like a combination of both analysis and finance. Lets focus on the required skill sets mention but to simplify probably someone with a business/finance analyst background who has specifically worked in a manufacturing environment.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical

Advanced Excel (data manipulation reconciliation reporting)

Experience with:

o ERP / manufacturing data systems

o Labor systems (e.g. Kronos or equivalent)

Strong data consolidation and reporting skills

Functional

Manufacturing or operations finance experience strongly preferred

Understanding of:

o Production metrics (yield scrap downtime)

o Inventory and variance analysis

o Budget vs. actuals

Core Responsibilities

1) Weekly Reporting & Data Management (Critical Priority)

Prepare and publish weekly operations reports

Extract and consolidate data from:

o AM Operating Reports (production scrap downtime)

o Work Order Usage Variance reports

o Kronos (labor hours)

o Finished Goods & batter production reports

Analyze and report:

o Production output by line

o Waste and variance trends

o Downtime drivers

o Labor utilization

Maintain and enhance reporting tools (shift & weekly reports)

2) Month-End Close & Financial Accuracy (High Priority)

Perform budget vs. actual corrections

Review and correct:

o Inventory adjustments

o Production variances

Support:

o Monthly waste reconciliation

o ETO file preparation

o Monthly slide deck preparation (financial summaries)

3) Operational Variance & Cost Analysis

Lead/support recurring analysis:

o Plant variance meetings (weekly)

o Overhead and labor cost reviews

Conduct ad hoc analysis on:

o Labor efficiency

o Overhead spend

o Production inefficiencies

Identify cost savings opportunities and flag risks

4) Business Partnering & Meetings

Participate in frequent cross-functional meetings:

o Daily/weekly plant leadership meetings

o Budget vs. actual reviews (multiple departments)

o Weekly reviews with leadership (e.g. plant directors finance)

Provide clear financial insights to non-finance stakeholders

5) Reporting & Process Ownership

Own and maintain:

o Weekly reporting process (end-to-end)

o Waste reporting

o Overhead budget templates and reconciliation

Drive small improvements to reporting efficiency and accuracy

Ideal Candidate Profile

3 5 years in operations / plant finance

Experience supporting multiple manufacturing sites

Comfortable in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment

Able to step in quickly with minimal ramp-up
