Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support enterprise initiatives for the Texas Education Agency (TEA). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience gathering business requirements improving business processes and supporting the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) while collaborating with stakeholders and development teams.
Important: Candidates must already reside in the Austin TX area. Relocation candidates will not be considered.
Mandatory Qualifications
- 8 years of Business Analyst experience.
- 4 years of experience working with State Government agencies (any U.S. state).
- Experience working with a State/Federal/Local Education Agency (TEA or equivalent preferred; candidates with 4 years of state experience and limited education agency experience may also be considered).
- Extensive experience with:
- Requirements elicitation and documentation.
- Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Business process analysis and process improvement.
- Writing user stories use cases and functional requirements.
- Creating wireframes and mockups following UX best practices.
- Strong communication facilitation documentation and organizational skills.
- 2 years of experience using Atlassian Jira.
- 2 years of experience using Modern Requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Data Lake technologies.
- Previous experience supporting the Texas Education Agency (TEA) or similar education organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Elicit analyze and document business and system requirements through stakeholder interviews workshops JAD sessions and process analysis.
- Translate business needs into user stories use cases functional specifications wireframes and process flows.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders project teams and developers throughout the SDLC.
- Analyze and improve business processes to enhance system functionality and efficiency.
- Manage requirements change requests and traceability using Jira and Modern Requirements.
- Support testing validation and post-implementation enhancements to ensure business requirements are successfully delivered.
- Mentor team members on business analysis best practices and documentation standards.
