Job Summary
Business Analyst
- Conduct background research related to climate and regulatory topics.
- Source clean organize and structure large datasets using MS Excel and statistical packages (e.g. R Stata pandas).
- Analyze data to assess New Yorks climate risk and its impact on regulated entities and communities.
- Summarize and synthesize data findings in briefing memos and reports using MS Word.
- Track and coordinate progress and completion of division-wide projects using Excel and other tools.
- Collaborate and interact with staff and external partners to support policy development and project execution.
- Manage stakeholder relationships while working collaboratively in matrixed teams.
- Utilize MS Office Suite and Adobe software for daily tasks and reporting.
- Support the sourcing of publicly available data for project needs.
- Apply project tracking and coordination skills to ensure timely deliverables.
Required Experience and Skills:
- 36 months independently cleaning organizing and analyzing data using Excel and similar tools.
- 24 months using statistical packages such as R Stata or pandas.
- 36 months sourcing publicly available data and working with large datasets.
- 24 months tracking and/or coordinating projects.
- 36 months experience in collaborative matrixed team environments managing stakeholder relationships.
- Bachelors degree in economics statistics public policy climate or related disciplines.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and Adobe software.
