POSITION SUMMARY

The Bus Driver plays a critical role in supporting the mission of BRYSS and Tejano Center by providing safe reliable and timely transportation for students to and from school field trips and extracurricular activities. The Bus Driver is responsible for maintaining a safe and respectful environment while ensuring compliance with all districts state and federal transportation regulations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications

• Clear and valid Texas Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation drug/alcohol screenings and annual physical examinations.
• Ability to complete and maintain required bus driver safety training and certifications.
• Strong communication organizational and student management skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Ability to safely operate a school bus and use GPS and routing systems.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Operate school bus GPS two-way radio and safety equipment including fire extinguishers flares and reflective signs.
• Prolonged sitting and driving; frequent standing bending twisting kneeling and climbing.
• Frequent reaching grasping walking and stair climbing.
• Light lifting and carrying up to 15 pounds.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions vehicle fumes moving traffic and irregular work hours.
• Ability to maintain emotional control professionalism and sound judgment under stress.

Salary: MIN:$17.17/hrly MID:$20.72/hrly MAX: $24/hrly
