Every day at Head Start we help children build the confidence skills and relationships they need to succeed in school and in life. Whether youre teaching in the classroom preparing nutritious meals supporting families or ensuring children arrive safely each day every role makes a difference.
As a Bus Assistant youll be one of the first smiling faces children see each school day. Youll help create a safe welcoming and caring environment where preschool children feel secure supported and ready to learn. If you enjoy working with young children and want to make a meaningful difference in your community wed love to have you join our team.
Key Responsibilities
Safely assist preschool children as they board and exit the Head Start bus.
Supervise children during transportation while helping maintain a safe positive and respectful environment.
Work closely with the bus driver to ensure student safety at all times.
Build positive relationships with children and families while representing Action Inc. professionally.
Help children begin and end each school day with encouragement patience and kindness.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to work positively with preschool-aged children.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Dependability and a commitment to child safety.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
