JOB OVERVIEW:

Under the close supervision of an administrative superior performs a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled cleaning and building construction alteration landscaping maintenance and repair work.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Serves as a lead worker over Service Worker I/II part-time employees and volunteers.

Event set up and tear down of daily and weekly events.

Performs a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled painting carpentry plastering masonry plumbing metal work electrical mechanical maintenance and related work.

Repairs faucets unstops clogged lines and performs other plumbing work.

Installs and replaces light fixtures outlets bulbs fuses and performs other electrical work.

Maintains and repairs locks appliances boilers pneumatic controls heating and refrigeration systems and related mechanical devices; monitors gauges and adjusts controls on equipment.

Paints and redecorates walls woodwork furniture and fixtures.

Welds brazes solders and cuts material using oxy-acetylene and electric welding equipment to repair existing structures or in the construction of new facilities.

Operates equipment and tools used in maintenance and repair work.

Operates tractors backhoes skid steers as well as other equipment.

Operates equipment used for landscaping: riding lawn mowers weed eaters leaf blowers and edgers.

Operates snow removal vehicles: (trucks with plows) ATVs with plows and snow blowers.

Clean and maintains bathrooms cleans up trash before during and after events.

Staging of events taking events down tractor driving- arena prep as well as during events.

Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serves as a lead worker over Service Worker I/II part-time employees and volunteers.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Education:High school graduation or equivalent.

Experience:One (1) year of experience involving manual skills related to Building Construction Alteration Maintenance and Repair Work.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA):

Knowledge:Working knowledge of the standard methods practices tools and materials used in a variety of building maintenance functions.

Skills:Skilled in the use of motorized vehicles and equipment including dump truck pickup truck utility truck snow removal equipment pumps compressors sanders generators common hand and power tools shovels wrenches detection devices mobile radio and phone.

Abilities:Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees other departments and the general public.

YOUR SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess or be able to possess a valid Utah Drivers License and have a good driving record.

Must be on call 24 hours a day; must have a telephone.

Must be adaptable to changing work hours as shift hours may be varied.

Working days would include weekends and holidays; and working hours could include early mornings and late nights.

Service workers are required to be on holiday and weekend checks.

Must pass State exam to obtain licensure if required.

Due to the nature of this position the successful candidate may be required to complete a pre-employment background check prior to starting the position.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
