Summary of Job Duties:
As a key member of UAMS Building & Space Management the Building Manager is responsible for a wide range of facility and space management activities providing a high level of customer service while collaborating closely with stakeholders across UAMS. This includes serving as a liaison to Engineering & Operations Planning Design & Construction Environmental Services IT Environmental/Occupational Health & Safety and Security Support Services.
The Building Manager proactively monitors building conditions conducts environmental and safety rounds and coordinates resolution of operational compliance and facility-related issues across assigned buildings. This role facilitates space planning occupant moves and facility reconfigurations while maintaining the integrity of UAMS space assets and ensuring compliance with institutional policies NCES/FICM space standards and applicable healthcare life safety and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in facility operations safety business or related field
- Ability to follow oral instruction read and write
- Must have proven customer service skills. This position serves the public and is always willing to go the extra mile.
- 1 year of experience in building facility space management or related
- Familiarity with regulatory codes and compliance standards (NFPA Joint Commission CMS ADH DFA)
- Working knowledge of space use standards (NCES FICM)
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facility management platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree or equivalent experience in facility operations safety business or related field
- 2 5 years experience in building facility space management or related
- Experience in healthcare or academic settings
- Knowledge of move coordination and furniture reallocation processes
- Familiarity with AutoCAD CAFM or space management systems
- Understanding of security and access control protocols
