- Conduct inspections of residential and limited commercial construction projects to ensure compliance with approved plans building codes and County/state standards by identifying violations issuing corrective actions verifying repairs and providing guidance to contractors design professionals and property owners
- Document inspection results and maintain permit records in County systems by recording inspection outcomes comments and photographs ensuring accurate and timely data entry assisting with reports and using GIS tools to verify parcel and site information.
- Communicate inspection requirements code interpretations and corrective actions to contractors homeowners and the public by providing clear guidance addressing questions and concerns coordinating re-inspections and ensuring compliance with County standards.
- Valid drivers license issued by the state of residency.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of the Countys Building Inspector Trainee program or At least five (5) years of skilled trades or construction experience (residential or commercial) qualifying the candidate for OBBS Level 2 RLC.
- Certification Requirements: Required within thirty-six (36) months of hire: OBBS Level 2 Residential Limited Commercial (RLC) Building Inspector Certification.
