Job Summary
MalaceHR is currently seeking a Building Engineer for a contract assignment supporting a premier Class A commercial property in Miami FL. This position will provide temporary coverage and is expected to begin around mid-August depending on training and transition timelines.
The Building Engineer is responsible for supporting the daily operation inspection repair and preventive maintenance of building systems and equipment. This role ensures the facility operates safely efficiently and reliably while delivering outstanding service to tenants and property management.
The ideal candidate is a dependable hardworking professional with strong mechanical aptitude excellent troubleshooting skills and a team-oriented mindset. HVAC experience is highly preferred.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on commercial building systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC mechanical electrical plumbing and general building systems.
- Complete work orders and tenant service requests through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Perform routine inspections of facility equipment and identify maintenance needs.
- Replace lighting fixtures lamps and ballasts in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Complete general building maintenance including painting pressure washing locksmith work plumbing repairs and other facility-related tasks.
- Assist with water treatment system monitoring and maintenance.
- Support emergency response and on-call situations as needed.
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and service records.
- Follow all company and client safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in technical operational and safety training programs.
- Perform additional maintenance projects and duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial building maintenance facilities maintenance or a related skilled trade.
- Trade school military technical training union apprenticeship or college coursework is a plus.
- EPA Universal (CFC) Certification is preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
- Experience using CMMS/work order management systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook Word Excel and Teams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a maintenance team.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely use ladders up to 30 feet.
- Ability to frequently stand walk climb kneel bend reach and perform physically demanding maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work safely in indoor and outdoor environments and around mechanical equipment.
