Job Summary

Los Angeles California Hybrid Approximately $150K $10K Bonus Flexible DOE
RECRUITER OBJECTIVE

Find a senior building-enclosure expert who can diagnose failures involving exterior building systems lead restoration and rehabilitation projects manage clients and contribute to business development.

Walter P Moore will review strong junior candidates but the primary search is for a senior expert.

MUST-HAVES
  • Deep building-enclosure or building-envelope expertise.

  • Professional Engineer license or Registered Architect credential.

  • Existing-building diagnostics restoration rehabilitation or forensic-investigation experience.

  • Strong knowledge of enclosure science materials deterioration and failure mechanisms.

  • Experience with waterproofing vapor barriers windows doors water intrusion moisture and humidity.

  • Project-management and client-facing experience.

  • Ability to contribute to business development.

PREFERRED
  • Existing book of business or strong client relationships. (mandatory for the ideal senior candidates)

  • Relationships with architectural firms.

  • Attorney or insurance-company contacts.

  • Structural Engineer license. (SE)

  • Experience developing proposals and winning consulting work.

STRONG TARGET BACKGROUNDS
  • Building-envelope or building-enclosure consultant.

  • Building-science or enclosure-forensics engineer.

  • Architect specializing in enclosure failures and restoration.

  • Structural diagnostics professional with substantial enclosure expertise.

  • Senior consultant or project manager from:

    • SCH Engineering Inc. (SCH)

    • Wiss Janney Elstner Associates Inc. (WJE)

    • Similar specialized enclosure restoration or forensic-consulting firms.

CORE WORK
  • Investigate water intrusion moisture humidity and enclosure failures.

  • Evaluate waterproofing vapor barriers windows doors façades and related systems.

  • Diagnose deterioration and failures in existing buildings.

  • Perform condition assessments connected to property sales regulations or known building problems.

  • Develop repair restoration and rehabilitation solutions.

  • Manage technical projects reports proposals and client relationships.

  • Help generate business through architectural ownership legal or insurance relationships.

WORK ARRANGEMENT
  • Approximately one-third at Los Angeles-area project sites.

  • Approximately one-third in the Los Angeles office.

  • Approximately one-third working from home.

  • Remote work is available whenever project responsibilities allow.

  • Relocation is available for an all-star candidate.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • Approximately $150000 for the senior target candidate.

  • Compensation is flexible DOE and should be north of $100000.

Hiring Process
