Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

The Budget & Finance Supervisoris responsible forall activities related to financial planning and analysis including preparation of the annual department budget quarterly financial analysis budget monitoring budget amendment process and multi-year financial plan. Coordinates financial projectionspurchasing accounting reports and technical and personnel operations for the department. Supervises technical and clerical staff. Provides administrative and technical support services.Representsthe department in a variety of internal and external meetings.

SCHEDULE:

This positionoperatesprimarily in person with occasional work from home opportunities. This role is 40 hours a week.

COMPENSATION:

Hiring Range:$94622.66-$123009.45USD Annually

Compensation will bedeterminedbased on educationexperienceand skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Oversee the annual budget development and implementation.Coordinate budget process and present budget to internal stakeholders. Monitor andtrack annual budget and administer changes to the budgetand make decisions per applicable budget transfers and amendments.

  • Determinefinancial planning strategies including forecasting all applicable revenue sources grants program funding capital projects and operations and allocation of resources including personnel budget and equipment for all sections and functions.

  • Oversee and approve requisitionspurchasing claim voucher contracts accounts payable accounts receivable transferspayrollandProCardprocessing.Manage all department accounts and use revenue and expenses when developing budget. Route major requisitions purchaseordersand claims vouchers to the director for approval. Validate approvals for internal county billingspurchasingsupplies and contracted services.

  • Serve as a member of various committees panels and task forces. Attend staff and coordination meetings as assigned. Coordinate meetings with external stakeholders.Assistin making applicable decisions as required per topic or issue at hand.

  • Supervises staff in area of responsibility. Administers and makes recommendations for routine personnel matters affecting subordinates including recruiting interviewing hiring training assigning scheduling granting leave appraisals and taking corrective action. Conducts performance evaluations and communicates short- and long-term goals andobjectives. Submits personnel records and reports as required by the county.Assistsand advises subordinates as necessary resolves problems as non-routine situations arise and ensures adherence toestablishedpolicies procedures and standards. Communicates changes in policy and procedures to direct reports and implements them as directed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:Minimum Five yearswork-relatedexperience

Education:BachelorsDegree

*Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

Preferred knowledgeskillsand abilities:

  • Supervision experience.

  • Budget and financial experience to include financial projections 5-year capital improvement plan financial strategies.

  • Workday knowledge preferred.
