Job Summary
Primary Duties
Field Education Program Coordination & Agency Partnerships
- Coordinates the development maintenance and evaluation of BSW field education sites and field instructors; establishes and manages agency affiliation agreements
- Provides orientation and training to field instructors
- Maintains compliance with CSWE field education standards.
Student Placement Readiness & Field Support
- Screens and prepares students for admission to the Social Work Program and field placement
- Matches and places students in appropriate agencies
- Maintains electronic records of students and sites
- Monitors student progress and professional readiness throughout the field experience
Teaching Assessment & Program Improvement
- Teaches six (6) credit hours per semester within the BSW curriculum
- Integrates classroom instruction with field education principles
- Advises and mentors students; and participates in curriculum development CSWE assessment and accreditation-related activities
Ancillary Duties
Advising and Mentorship
- Advises and mentors students on academic progression field readiness and professional development
- Participates in limited departmental and college service activities
- Represents the Department at university and community events
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program
- Knowledge of social work education and field education processes
- Ability to build and sustain agency partnerships
- Strong organizational communication and mentoring skills. Ability to screen and prepare students for professional practice.
- Minimum two years post-MSW professional experience in a social work setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Colorado (or eligible for licensure)
- Familiarity with CSWE field education standards.
- Experience teaching advising or coordinating field education in a BSW program.
- Experience working with diverse and nontraditional student populations
- Two or more years of experience in higher education preferably in a BSW program
