Job Summary/Description:
The Broadcast Engineer is responsible for operations and maintenance of Raycom Sports mobile production units facilities and equipment. They primarily work on live remote sports productions including setup programming operation troubleshooting repairs inventory and packing of broadcast-related equipment and production trucks/trailers. This position is based on the East Coast of the USA and requires travel to event locations.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Set up program operate repair and maintain mobile broadcast production units internal production facilities and equipment
Installation documentation and evaluation of new and replacement broadcast equipment
Research and recommend new equipment and technologies to improve the efficiency of production operations
Provide guidance and training to junior engineers and apprentices
Administration and coordination of equipment maintenance
Participate in technology-related projects
Manage special projects as assigned
Being a team player with a good work ethic to support coworkers vendors and clients
Client-focused with a track record of strong relationships and service excellence.
Excellent people skills; able to communicate with tact patience and professionalism.
Self-starter and strong troubleshooter who can adapt in a fast-paced live-event setting.

Flexible work schedule including working days evenings weekends holidays and emergency on-call
Extensive travel is required both regionally and nationally
Percent of travel required: 80%.

Qualifications/Requirements:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in broadcast engineering and/or remote production engineering experience
Certifications and licenses:
Current valid drivers license and good driving record required
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages area circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
Proficient in Company-provided hardware and software. Proficient in broadcast and production hardware and software. Working Knowledge of IT Processes including Network Security Workflow and Network Management
Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to live up to the physically demanding activities of this broadcast and engineering type of position.
