Primary Responsibilities
This is a half-time (part-time benefit eligible) position with remote work options. Please note that although this is a remote position there are on-site requirements when delivering curriculum (state travel (e.g. lodging per diem) will be provided for onsite requirements of position). Responsibilities : The Leadership Academy Coordinator at Borderlands Research Institute ( BRI ) will be tasked with developing and delivering leadership training for graduate students at SRSU . Primary duties include: Identify recruit and engage a steering committee composed of key stakeholders Work with steering committee to identify priority components of leadership academy Develop leadership curriculum focused on communication skills technical guidance agricultural and natural resource management and other leadership skills identified by stakeholders Schedule and deliver programming around existing curriculum Assist BRI faculty staff and students as needed to assist with coordinating educational initiatives associate with leadership academy. Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times including maintaining data security and confidentiality. Supervision: Received: Reports to the Leadership Team at Borderlands Research Institute including Director Associate Director of Research Associate Director of Stewardship Services and Associate Director of Operations. Given: MS and PhD graduate students enrolled in the leadership academy. Security Sensitive: This position is classified as Security-Sensitive and is thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code 51.215 and Texas Government Code 411.094 which authorize employers to obtain and review criminal history record information for applicants. Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice sate work habits at all times.
