Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY:
The Brand & Design Director shapes the visual expression of the organization ensuring everything created is clear compelling and consistent. This role leads design direction across campaigns and environments while building scalable systems for designers and creative contributors to execute high-quality work. The Brand & Design Director provides creative leadership protects and executes the brand and partners across teams to ensure creative work supports organizational strategy.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and elevate the overall visual brand and design quality across all communications
- Help lead creative direction for major campaigns sermon series events and organizational initiatives
- Develop design systems templates and standards that improve consistency and efficiency
- Manage freelancers and creative volunteers through providing feedback and direction
- Design high-impact creative pieces and campaigns when needed
- Collaborate with communications content video and ministry teams to align creative with strategy
- Protect and thoughtfully evolve the organizations visual identity
- Lead projects from concept to completion while maintaining strong communication across teams
- Foster growth and development among creative contributors and external partners
Qualifications
JOB PROFILE:
SPECIFIC SKILLS / STRENGTHS
- Strong visual design and art direction skills
- Ability to lead creative projects and teams effectively
- Strong understanding of branding typography layout and visual storytelling
- Ability to give clear constructive creative feedback
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Strong organizational and project management abilities
- Ability to balance creativity with clarity and strategic objectives
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
EXPERIENCE DESIRED
- Experience in graphic design art direction or brand leadership
- Experience leading or mentoring designers freelancers or creative contributors
- Portfolio demonstrating strong design execution and creative thinking
- Experience working in fast-paced collaborative environments preferred
- Church nonprofit agency or mission-driven organization experience preferred
EDUCATION DESIRED
- Bachelors degree in graphic design Visual Communications Fine Arts Marketing or related field preferred
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides leadership and direction to freelance designers creative contributors and volunteers
- May oversee project-based creative teams and external partners
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to speak effectively and understandably on the phone. The ability to effectively present information and respond to common inquiries regarding Chase Oaks ministries is also required. High attention to customer service.
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop Illustrator InDesign)
- Familiarity with presentation collaboration and project management tools
- Working knowledge of motion graphics video or web design tools preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook calendaring and email
- Basic knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
