Boiler Mechanic MD Grade 2

The Boiler Mechanic MD Grade 2 constructs installs maintains and repairs stationary steam boilers closed vats and pressure vessels at the CMI customer site in Beltsville MD.

Key Job Functions

• Read blueprints to assemble boiler tanks and connect pipe systems valves and gauges using welding equipment and hand tools.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance like cleaning vats replacing defective tubes lubricating moving parts and ensuring proper water chemical balance.
• Diagnose malfunctions conduct pressure tests and replace broken components to prevent leaks and inefficient operation.
• Regulate equipment adjust controls and maintain logs of fuel usage and pressure levels to meet Stationary Engineers and Boiler Operators safety and environmental standards.
• Performs other related duties as required

Qualifications :

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Must have at least 3 years of experience of operating and maintaining boiler plants and at least 1 year operating and maintaining boiler plants as MD Grade 2 Stationary Engineer
• Must be licensed as Maryland (MD) Stationary Engineer Grade 2 - 300 to 499 horsepower (in any building)
• Must submit license(s) with resume
• Ability to lift heavy objects navigate tight confined spaces work at heights and withstand high-pressure high-temperature environments
• Must be able to fluently read write speak and understand the English language
• Must be able to pass a government background check
