Job Summary

About the Unit

This position is for a PRN BMT/Hematology Infusion Nurse at the Lemmen-Holten Cancer Pavilion. We provide transplants/cell therapies and various cancer treatments and supportive care for patients with hematologic diagnosis. This position is PRN meaning there are no guaranteed hours however the nurse will be able to pick up shifts to cover PTO ill calls and leaves.

About Lemmen Holton Cancer Center

We treat cancer using the latest technologies and treatments including gene sequencing of tumors targeted therapy and advanced oncology surgery techniques. We use a team approach to care bringing together different areas of expertise that specialize in any type of cancer.

Scope of work

Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment diagnosis outcomes identification planning implementation and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice culturally congruent practice communication collaboration leadership education evidence-based practice and research quality of practice professional practice evaluation resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Required Associates Degree Nursing

  • Preferred Bachelors Degree Nursing

  • Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program Required

  • LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATEMI State of Michigan Upon Hire required

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required

  • CRT-Oncology Nursing Society - ONCC Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certificate course completion required for RNs working in departments where chemotherapy/immunotherapy is administered. Radiation Therapy certificate course is required for RNs working in radiation departments. 1 Year required

  • CRT-Oncology Certified Nurse - ONCC Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation OCN Certification (or other applicable Oncology specialty/leadership certification) 1 Year preferred
