Job Summary
Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee Providence Hospitality Partners. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotels employment policies and practices including hiring firing discipline staffing compensation benefits and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International Inc.
- Lead and motivate a small Bistro team to deliver exceptional guest service
- Support daily Bistro operations during AM breakfast and PM bar service
- Train coach and mentor team members to maintain Marriott brand standards
- Ensure all guests receive friendly professional and efficient service
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and courteously
- Operate Micros Symphony POS system efficiently
- Prepare and serve beverages in accordance with recipes and state liquor regulations
- Verify legal drinking age and maintain compliance with TABC requirements
- Handle cash credit card transactions and daily sales accountability
- Prepare bar mixes garnishes and stock all beverage and food service areas
- Maintain cleanliness sanitation and food safety standards at all times
- Assist with inventory management and shift-to-shift accountability
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate
- Work collaboratively with Front Desk Housekeeping and Management teams
- Complete all required reports documentation and operational checklists.
- Previous Marriott hotel experience
- Experience using Micros Symphony POS system
- Previous food & beverage restaurant bar or hotel Bistro experience
- TABC Certification (or ability to obtain immediately upon hire)
- Strong leadership skills with experience supervising or leading a team
- Excellent guest service and communication skills
- Ability to work AM or PM shifts weekends holidays and flexible schedules
- Ability to multitask and perform well in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Previous Courtyard Bistro experience
- Inventory management experience
- Hospitality leadership experience
- Thorough knowledge of food and beverage service standards
- Strong understanding of wines beers cocktails and responsible alcohol service
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to make sound decisions and resolve guest concerns independently
- Positive attitude with a strong commitment to teamwork
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests associates and management
- Ability to stand walk bend stoop and reach for extended periods
- Ability to lift push pull and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in environments with occasional heat cold and noise exposure
- Ability to move quickly and safely throughout the Bistro and hotel
