Nemours is seeking a Biostatistician. The Biostatistician reports to and assists the Nemours Anesthesia and Surgical Outcomes Center (NASOC) in providing in-depth statistical expertise for clinicians and researchers from conception through to the conclusion of research studies. This includes but is not limited to assistance with designing clinical research studies writing statistical sections of research proposals calculating sample size and power managing analyzing and interpreting clinical data and databases and authoring statistical analysis results for clinical study reports and manuscripts. The Biostatistician also participates in educational and training activities through workshops and one-on-one interactions to enhance clinician/researchers understanding of the principles of statistics and design.
The Biostatistician is required to have sound knowledge of statistical principles and strong skills in computational methods to perform complex data manipulation and analysis using major statistical software packages such as SAS R Stata and SPSS. The knowledge of other computer programs such as EndNote Smartsheets and PASS will be a plus. The Biostatistician is expected to possess a positive attitude be detail-oriented and be able to interact and explain statistical results to researchers/investigators to promote teamwork in a multidisciplinary research team setting throughout the organization.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Interact independently and with the NASOC in interactions with clinical investigators physicians and other scientists to provide study design and statistical and programming support from the hypothesis generation phase through dissemination of results of a study.
2. Perform power and sample size calculations generate randomization lists and write statistical methodology section for inclusion in study protocols/proposals.
3. Perform complex data manipulation and assist investigators in setting up data for analyses.

Qualifications
- Masters degree required
- At least 1 year of experience
