In This Position You Will:

  • Develop computational and mathematical models of the human body and human physiology.
  • Create patient-specific models using medical imaging data (CT MRI ultrasound microscopy etc.).
  • Design and implement biomechanical physiological or multi-physics simulations.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to integrate models into research software and production applications.
  • Validate models using experimental or clinical data.
  • Work directly with clinicians researchers and sponsors to understand technical requirements.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences.
  • Contribute to Kitwares open source software ecosystem.

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters degree 2 years of experience or PhD in Biomedical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Computational Biology Applied Mathematics Bioengineering or a related field.
  • Experience developing computational or mathematical models of the human body.
  • Strong programming skills in C or Python (C preferred).
  • Experience with scientific computing and numerical methods.
  • Familiarity with medical imaging and image processing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary research teams.
  • Due to contractual requirements only U.S. citizens will be considered for this position.
  • If not already cleared TS/SCI willingness and ability to apply for and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the Pulse Physiology Engine.
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Biomechanics.
  • Computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
  • Cardiovascular modeling.
  • Digital twins.
  • Multiscale modeling.
  • Medical image segmentation and registration.
  • AI or machine learning applied to biomedical data.
  • Grant proposal development and sponsored research.
$110000 - $150000 a year
