Job Summary
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Traveling Biomedical Equipment Specialist Sterilizers to support healthcare facilities throughout the Boston and New Hampshire region. This field-based role serves as the regional Subject Matter Expert (SME) for sterilization equipment providing advanced troubleshooting repair maintenance and technical leadership for critical healthcare technology systems.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience servicing Steris and/or Getinge sterilizers strong healthcare technology management (HTM) expertise and the ability to work independently across multiple hospital and healthcare environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the regional SME for hospital sterilizer systems and related healthcare technology equipment.
- Troubleshoot diagnose repair maintain calibrate and validate sterilization equipment to OEM and regulatory standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and corrective repairs on advanced clinical equipment.
- Support multiple healthcare facilities across the assigned territory.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership to develop maintenance and equipment reliability strategies.
- Maintain accurate service records reports and compliance documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to Biomedical Equipment Technicians (BMETs) and clinical engineering teams.
- Ensure equipment uptime safety and compliance with manufacturer specifications and healthcare regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering Electronic Engineering or a related field OR equivalent healthcare technology repair experience.
- Minimum 7 years of experience repairing troubleshooting and maintaining electronic mechanical or electro-mechanical equipment within a healthcare technology environment.
- Advanced expertise servicing hospital sterilizers to manufacturer standards.
- OEM training or certification on Steris and/or Getinge equipment (required).
- Experience supporting hospitals healthcare systems clinical engineering departments OEM service organizations or healthcare service providers.
- Strong diagnostic troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Preferred Experience
- Acute care hospital surgical services sterile processing or healthcare technology management (HTM) experience.
- Experience serving as a technical lead or SME for sterilization systems.
- Knowledge of advanced healthcare technology systems medical equipment device integration laboratory systems imaging systems or related clinical technologies.
- Experience providing technical mentorship or guidance to BMET teams.
