Biologist / Environmental Scientist
Direct Hire Opportunity with Superior Skilled Trades
Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced Biologist / Environmental Scientist to support environmental planning habitat restoration biological monitoring and compliance projects throughout California and surrounding regions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct biological field surveys for special-status plant and animal species
- Perform habitat assessments nesting bird surveys invasive species assessments and biological monitoring
- Assist with wetland delineations and environmental compliance activities
- Gather and analyze environmental data and prepare technical reports
- Support CEQA/NEPA documentation and permitting efforts
- Deliver environmental compliance training to field staff
- Coordinate with project teams agencies and field personnel
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Biology Ecology Wildlife Biology Botany Environmental Science or related field
- 5 years of biological field survey and reporting experience
- Strong knowledge of:
- CEQA / NEPA
- Federal & California ESA
- MBTA
- Clean Water Act
- Fish & Game Code
- Section 404 permitting
- Experience identifying special-status species and habitat types
- Strong technical writing and data analysis skills
- Ability to travel and work in field environments throughout California
Preferred
- Wetland delineation experience
- Construction monitoring experience
- GIS experience
- Environmental consulting background
