Job Summary

AECOM is hosting an exclusive invitation-only hiring event in Philadelphia on October 7-8 2026. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2027.

The event kicks off on Wednesday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects career paths and the company itself. Youll also have the chance to meet other students recent graduates and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.

On Thursday interviews will take place at our Philadelphia office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.

AECOMs Digital Practice and Technology group is seeking a BIM Intern for their office in Newark DE or Philadelphia PA. 

This position is expected to begin June 2027.

The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Internships are designed to introduce and build essential hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
  • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction or Architecture and have completed at least 1 year of study. Candidates who have graduated with a Bachelors degree and plan to continue with the Masters degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelors degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
  • Due to the nature of the work US Citizenship is required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of point cloud LiDAR and survey data and their application within BIM and digital engineering workflows.
  • Understanding of how survey and point cloud data is collected processed and incorporated into 3D models and design platforms.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems and their integration within BIM environments.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites for model validation field coordination data collection and project support activities.
  • Demonstrated desire to learn and adapt to new software applications digital workflows and emerging technologies.
  • Interest in advancing skills related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) automation scripting coding and data-driven BIM solutions.
  • Familiarity with programming languages or tools such as Python C# VBA PowerShell Dynamo Grasshopper or Bentley/OpenRoads automation tools is a plus.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
