Billing Specialist Medicaid VA & Medicare
Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Billing Specialist to manage Medicaid VA and Medicare billing processes. The Billing Specialist will be responsible for accurate claim submission payment posting denial management and maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely reimbursement and supporting overall financial operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare review and submit Medicaid VA and Medicare claims accurately and timely
  • Verify client insurance eligibility and authorization requirements
  • Monitor claim status and follow up on unpaid or denied claims
  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies denials and payment issues
  • Post payments adjustments and maintain accurate billing records
  • Communicate with insurance representatives VA representatives clients and internal staff regarding billing matters
  • Ensure compliance with Medicaid Medicare VA HIPAA and company policies
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations coding requirements and payer guidelines
  • Assist with month-end reporting and accounts receivable management
  • Support audits and documentation requests as needed
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of billing experience with Medicaid VA and/or Medicare claims
  • Knowledge of healthcare billing procedures and reimbursement processes
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and billing software
  • Strong understanding of insurance verification and claim follow-up procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in home care healthcare or senior care billing
  • Knowledge of EVV systems and authorization tracking
  • Certified Professional Biller (CPB) certification preferred
Work Schedule
  • Part-time
  • Monday Friday 4 to 5 hours a day
  • Office-based or hybrid options may be available
