Job Summary
Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking an experienced Billing Specialist with strong Deltek Costpoint expertise to support end-to-end billing operations within a government contracting environment. This role is responsible for accurate and timely invoicing across multiple contract types ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and supporting month-end close activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit customer invoices in accordance with contract terms and billing schedules
- Manage billing for a range of contract types including:
- Time & Materials (T&M)
- Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF)
- Cost Plus Award Fee (CPAF)
- Firm Fixed Price (FFP)
- Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations and company policies
- Perform unbilled analysis to monitor and resolve unbilled receivables
- Reconcile billing data and investigate discrepancies in collaboration with project teams and finance
- Support Accounts Receivable (AR) month-end close including reporting and reconciliations
- Maintain accurate billing records and documentation for audit readiness
- Partner with Program Managers Contracts and Finance teams to resolve billing issues and improve processes
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3 years of billing experience in a government contracting environment
- Hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint (required)
- Strong knowledge of T&M CPFF CPAF and FFP contract billing
- Understanding of FAR DFARS and general government compliance requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables VLOOKUPs data analysis)
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
