Billing Data Entry Clerk

Oates Energy is a fast-growing provider of utility submetering and billing solutions for residential and commercial properties. We help property owners recover utility costs efficiently through innovative technology accurate billing practices and exceptional customer support. As we continue to expand we are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Data Entry Clerk to join our remote operations team.
The Billing Data Entry Clerk is responsible for accurately entering reviewing and maintaining billing and account information within company systems. This role supports the billing process by ensuring data is complete organized and entered correctly and on time.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented organized comfortable working with computer systems and able to manage repetitive data-entry tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy. This is a remote position requiring dependable communication and the ability to work independently.
- Enter billing account customer and property information accurately into company systems
- Review data for completeness accuracy and consistency
- Compare source documents and account information to identify missing or incorrect data
- Update customer and account records as needed
- Assist with processing utility billing and account information according to established procedures
- Review billing-related data and flag discrepancies for further review
- Maintain organized electronic records and documentation
- Assist with account updates corrections and data verification
- Communicate with internal teams regarding missing or inconsistent information
- Respond to basic account and billing information requests when needed
- Follow established data-entry privacy and quality-control procedures
- Meet assigned deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Assist with other administrative and billing-support tasks as assigned
- Previous experience in data entry billing administration customer service or a related field preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working with computers and web-based software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to enter and review information efficiently
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to follow established procedures and work independently
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Experience with billing accounting property management or utility-related systems is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Required Education:
2 years of experience in utility billing accounting customer service or related field
