Bilingual Elementary & Middle School Tutor (SpanishEnglish)

Prep Academy Tutors of Los Angeles is seeking dedicated knowledgeable and compassionate Bilingual Elementary and Middle School Tutors/Teachers to support students in grades K8.

Our tutors provide personalized one-on-one instruction tailored to each students academic needs learning style and goals. We are specifically seeking educators who are fluent in both Spanish and English and can effectively support bilingual and Spanish-speaking students across a variety of academic subjects.

This is an ideal opportunity for certified teachers experienced educators graduate students or subject-matter experts who are passionate about helping students build confidence strengthen foundational skills and achieve measurable academic growth.

• Provide one-on-one academic tutoring to elementary and middle school students in grades K8
• Provide instruction in core subjects including Math English Language Arts Reading Science Social Studies and/or other academic areas
• Deliver instruction in English and Spanish as appropriate to the students needs
• Support bilingual and Spanish-speaking students in developing academic skills and confidence
• Develop individualized learning plans based on student needs academic goals and assessment results
• Support students with homework study skills organization and foundational academic skills
• Differentiate instruction based on each students learning style strengths and areas for improvement
• Track student progress and provide regular updates to families
• Foster a positive encouraging and professional learning environment
• Build strong supportive relationships with students and families
• Travel to students homes throughout the Los Angeles California area

• Bachelors degree required
• Fluency in both Spanish and English
• Strong subject-matter expertise in one or more elementary or middle school academic areas
• Prior teaching or tutoring experience with elementary and/or middle school students
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners
• Experience working with bilingual or multilingual students is preferred
• Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills
• Patient compassionate and encouraging approach to working with students

Tutors create schedules based on their availability and student demand. Sessions may take place after school evenings and/or weekends.

Los Angeles California

A qualified applicant will have a bachelors degree and will also meet at least one of the following criteria:

• You hold a valid California teaching certificate or the equivalent thereof
• You are a current student teacher pursuing a teaching certificate
• You have 2 or more years of experience as a classroom teacher in a private public or charter school
• You have experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited U.S. university or college
• You are a Masters/PhD student with experience as a teaching assistant at an accredited U.S. university or college
• You have 2 or more years of experience tutoring elementary and/or middle school students
• You have demonstrated experience working with bilingual or Spanish-speaking students

Fluency in both Spanish and English is required for this position.
