Job Summary

Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: ASAP upon completion of credentialing/onboarding

Shift Schedule: Full time 36 hours/week. Day/Night rotation. Orientation will be on day shift during the week.

How many shifts needed per month: Approx. 13 shifts (3 x 12-hour shifts/week) Day/Night rotation

Credentialing / Onboarding time: 6 weeks to 8 weeks

License: CNA certification accepted from any state

Certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant certification; Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross)

Education: Completion of an accredited nurse assistant program leading to CNA certification

Experience needed: 2 years in an acute care hospital

Special Skills needed: Able to independently manage a full patient care assignment on an acute care unit including ADLs vital signs intake/output and mobility assistance. Strong observational skills to recognize and promptly report changes in patient condition to the RN. Adaptable to day/night rotation and open to completing NIH Patient Care Technician competency and Crisis Prevention training.

Responsibilities: Manage a patient assignment on the assigned patient care unit providing hands-on support with daily living activities vital signs specimen collection and patient safety under RN supervision. Document care accurately and communicate patient status changes to the nursing team promptly. Selected candidates will complete NIH Patient Care Technician competencies and Crisis Prevention Training and will orient on day shift during the week.
