About the Role:
A healthcare organization in Borough Park is seeking a Benefits & Leave Specialist to manage and support employee benefits programs while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees regarding benefits enrollment changes and inquiries.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented knowledgeable in HR and benefits administration and experienced in handling sensitive employee information. They are organized professional and comfortable working in a healthcare-focused HR environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer employee benefits including health dental vision life disability and retirement plans
  • Process enrollments qualifying life events and terminations in benefit systems
  • Educate employees on benefit options eligibility and coverage details
  • Respond to employee inquiries and resolve issues with carriers or brokers
  • Maintain accurate benefit data in HRIS and payroll systems
  • Ensure compliance with ACA COBRA FMLA HIPAA and related regulations
  • Coordinate open enrollment processes and communications
  • Reconcile benefit invoices and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare reports for audits participation and cost tracking
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee benefit records

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; Associates or Bachelors in HR Business or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of benefits administration experience (healthcare preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of ACA COBRA HIPAA and FMLA regulations
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Proficiency with HRIS payroll systems and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
