Job Summary:

As a Belt Technician at Belt Power LLC. you will be responsible for the fabrication and installation of conveyor belts and related products either in-house or at a customer site.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Build/repair belts and conveyor belt components
  • Install and vulcanize lightweight conveyor belting.
  • Receive and verify incoming parts materials and supplies; maintain the stock area follows sales orders.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Maintain the work area in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Pick up and deliver orders stock and supplies.
  • Perform duties to fabricate install and repair conveyor belting.
  • Work in a manner that ensures the safety of everyone involved. Exercise proper care in the use of tools and equipment
  • Detect and report defective equipment material and any improper operations or unusual conditions.
  • Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations; maintain the work area in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Always represent Belt Power in a professional manner
  • Required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Belt Fabricator Technician Requirements:

  • Organization and prioritization skills; attention to detail
  • Strong mechanical background
  • The ability to interpret and verify precise measurements using a tape measure.
  • Basic math skills and computer skills
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Adapt to changing situations
  • Strong communication skills written and verbal
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as well as the ability to work at heights and in tight spaces
  • Overtime hours and weekend work may be required
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
  • High school diploma or equivalent education
Requirements

  • Work is physically strenuous and workers are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds
  • Work may require excessive bending or stooping
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required
  • May involve travel
  • Employee required to sit and drive a vehicle to perform the job
  • Employee required to climb ladders
  • Employee required to use hand tools
  • Employee uses heavy machinery (e.g. forklift)
  • Employee required to organize and coordinate schedules
  • Employee required to calibrate precise measurements
  • Employee required to problem solve

Desired characteristics:

  • Ability and desire to quickly learn new processes and systems
  • Maintenance belt tech experience preferred

Work Environment:

Work is generally performed in a fabrication shop environment. The noise level is moderately loud. Generally well-ventilated and well-lit. Shop employees may be required to wear protective clothing. The operation of heavy equipment and strict safety regulations are required.

Physical Demands:

The Belt Technician may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and will require manual dexterity and strength in arms and feet to manipulate equipment controls tools and other items used to make adjustments and/or minor maintenance. Will use hands arms back and shoulders to handle install position move items and manipulate other objects. Could be in a standing bending kneeling or sitting position for long periods of time.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position in a shop. Typical workdays and hours are Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm with occasional weekend work.
