Job Summary
Lifesteps is currently seeking a Full-Time Behavior Specialist to work with individuals who live in a Lifesteps community home or are external participants. Behavior Specialists promote individual health safety and quality of life through behavioral skill development.
The Behavior Specialist is based in the Murrysville / Monroeville area and will travel throughout Westmoreland Washington and Allegheny Counties providing services to adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
The schedule is 9:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday.
- The Behavioral Specialist performs afunctional assessment and develops strategies to support a participantaccordingly. This could include: social emotional plans functional behavioral analyses behavior plans restrictive procedures and associated documentation necessary for tracking plan implementation.
- Provides on-site training to participants staff parents and caregivers and monitors participant success.
- Develops effective behaviorsupport plans to be utilized by the care team and evaluates participantprogress.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Masters Degree in Human Services or a closely related field (Social Work Psychology Special Education Education etc.).
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel Word and Outlook.
- Current drivers license and valid auto insurance..
Preferred:
- Coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and experience working with adults with an intellectual disability
- ABA Certification
- Trama-informed care such as Certified Trauma Professional (CTP) or Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
- PA Behavior Specialist Licensure
