Position Overview
Ad Astra Behavior Analytic Services is seeking motivated dependable and compassionate individuals to join our team as Behavior Technicians. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to gain practical experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and develop a foundation for a career in behavioral health and child services.
Behavior Technicians provide direct support to children and families by implementing individualized ABA treatment programs under the guidance of the clinical team. Through structured evidence-based interventions technicians help clients strengthen communication social adaptive and daily living skills while supporting positive behavioral outcomes and greater independence.
Services are provided primarily in clients homes and community-based environments according to individual treatment needs. Typical sessions are scheduled Monday through Friday between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM with flexibility based on client needs and employee availability.
Compensation: $20$26 per hour based on experience and qualifications. Additional compensation may be available for bilingual Spanish-speaking applicants.
Key Responsibilities
As a Behavior Technician you will work directly with children and become an important member of their treatment team. Responsibilities include:
- Delivering individualized ABA services in accordance with established treatment programs.
- Supporting the development of communication social adaptive and daily living skills.
- Implementing skill acquisition and behavior intervention strategies under clinical supervision.
- Applying evidence-based ABA techniques to encourage learning independence and positive behavioral outcomes.
- Supporting interventions designed to decrease behaviors that may interfere with safety learning or daily functioning.
- Collecting accurate client data during each session.
- Completing required session documentation accurately and timely.
- Communicating observations progress and concerns with supervising BCBAs and other members of the clinical team.
- Maintaining positive respectful and professional relationships with clients and their families.
- Following established clinical ethical safety and confidentiality standards.
- Remaining flexible and responsive to the individual needs of each client.
Applicants with coursework degrees or experience in psychology education human services child development social services or related fields are strongly encouraged to apply. - Valid drivers license
- Reliable transportation
- Active automobile insurance listing the applicant as a covered driver
- Current negative TB test

Physical and Cognitive Requirements
The essential functions of this position may require employees to:
- Frequently sit stand walk bend kneel crouch reach and transition between floor-level and standing positions.
- Participate in developmentally appropriate client activities including floor-based activities movement activities transitions and safety monitoring.
- Safely work within a variety of environments including homes clinics schools community settings and remote/telehealth settings when applicable.
- Occasionally lift carry push pull or move therapy materials and equipment generally up to 50 pounds.
- Sit for extended periods while providing telehealth services or completing computer-based responsibilities.
- Use computers keyboards mobile devices and other equipment requiring fine motor coordination.
- Maintain visual and auditory awareness to observe client behavior monitor safety and communicate effectively in both in-person and virtual settings.
- Read understand retain and apply written and verbal information.
- Maintain attention concentration situational awareness and sound judgment in dynamic environments.
- Collect record and submit accurate client data and session documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive client information.
- Demonstrate professionalism and emotional resilience when addressing sensitive client family employee or workplace concerns.

Incentive Pay Structure
Behavior Technicians may qualify for additional hourly increases based on continued availability and professional development:
- $1/hour increase after maintaining consistent availability for 90 consecutive days.
- Additional $1/hour increase upon successfully earning RBT certification.
Client Cancellation Policy
We understand that last-minute client cancellations can affect technician schedules and earnings. To help protect our staffs time paid cancellation time of up to 2 hours may be provided when a client cancels within 30 minutes of the scheduled session start time and/or after the technician has already departed for the session. Ad Astra also monitors recurring or excessive client cancellations and works to address scheduling concerns in an effort to support consistent and dependable technician hours.
