Job Summary

Position Overview

This position is an excellent entry point or growth opportunity for individuals pursuing a future in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). As a Behavior Technician you will work directly with children and their families to carry out personalized ABA treatment plans designed to support skill development and positive behavior change. Services are delivered in clients homes or community environments depending on each childs goals. Most sessions occur Monday through Friday between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM with scheduling options available based on your availability. Compensation ranges from $22 to $30 per hour determined by experience and credentials. Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates may qualify for increased pay.

Responsibilities

Behavior Technicians are instrumental in supporting children as they strengthen communication social engagement and daily living skills. You will apply evidence-based behavioral strategies to teach new skills and decrease behaviors that may limit safety or independence. Candidates with academic backgrounds in psychology education human services or related disciplines are encouraged to apply. Success in this role requires consistency empathy professionalism and a sincere commitment to helping children achieve measurable progress.

Qualifications

Requirements include a high school diploma (or equivalent) a valid drivers license dependable transportation and active auto insurance listing the employee as a covered driver. A current negative TB test is mandatory. Strong communication skills problem-solving ability creativity and professionalism are essential. Physical and Cognitive Requirements:

  • Frequently sit stand walk bend kneel crouch reach and transition between floor-level and standing positions throughout the workday.
  • Actively participate in developmentally appropriate client activities including floor-based activities movement-based activities transitions and safety monitoring.
  • Safely navigate assigned work environments including homes clinics schools community settings and remote/telehealth settings as applicable.
  • Occasionally lift carry push pull or move therapy materials and equipment typically up to 50 pounds.
  • Sit for extended periods while providing telehealth services or completing computer-based work as needed.
  • Use hands and fingers to operate computers keyboards mobile devices and other equipment requiring fine motor coordination.
  • Maintain visual and auditory awareness to observe client behavior monitor safety and communicate effectively in both in-person and virtual settings.
  • Read understand retain and apply written and verbal information.
  • Maintain attention concentration situational awareness and sound judgment in dynamic environments.
  • Collect record and submit accurate client data and session documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Maintain professionalism and emotional resilience when addressing sensitive client or employee matters complaints and workplace concerns.

Incentive Pay Structure

  • $1/hour raise after maintaining consistent availability for 90 consecutive days
  • Additional $1/hour raise upon successfully earning RBT certification

Cancellation Policy

To protect staff time and earnings we maintain a clear cancellation policy. Paid cancellations are provided for up to 2 hours of pay if a client cancels within 30 minutes or less of the scheduled start time and/or technician has already departed for the session. We also actively monitor and address excessive client cancellations to protect technician schedules and maintain consistent hours.
