Pay: $17/hour Hours: MondayFriday School year schedule August 25 2026 - JuneHours a weekOverview:As a Behavior Support Associate at the Barber National Institute youll work directly with children in educational settings who may exhibit challenging behaviors. Your role will be essential in supporting individualized treatment plans and ensuring students receive compassionate respectful and effective behavioral will assist with implementing behavior strategies collecting data on progress supporting teachers and therapists and maintaining a safe and engaging classroom environment. Our team works with children and teens in Autism Support (AS) Emotional Support (ES) and Life Skills youll bring:A strong commitment to supporting the behavioral and academic growth of children and teens in the empathy and professionalism in behaviorally challenging communication and collaboration skills to work alongside teachers and behavioral and dedication to maintaining a structured supportive classroom youll have:A Bachelors degree in Psychology Social Work Counseling Education Criminal Justice Sociology or a related field OR A high school diploma and 2 years of relevant be 18 years of age or to complete all required background clearances: State Police Criminal Record Check Child Abuse History Clearance and FBI to complete mandatory training programs and follow established safety and behavioral protocols.A typical day may include:Working on-site at one of the four schools within the General McLane School District which includes two elementary schools a middle school and a high a full-time school-year schedule aligned with the General McLane academic calendarwhen students are off youre off times vary depending on your assigned school with schedules consistent with each buildings individualized treatment and behavior support plans directly within the classroom monitoring and documenting behavioral data to track student progress and inform intervention teachers during instructional sessions and recreational activities such as small group learning and playground with staff training on behavioral techniques under the supervision of a Barber National Institute Behavior with educators and therapists to adjust and improve care a respectful inclusive and supportive environment for every student ensuring their dignity privacy and individual needs are honored.
