Job Summary

BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Compton - Gibbs

7.5 hours per day 191 days per year

Step 1 - Hourly Rate $25.81

Description: Supervise students assist with assignments understand andmaintain academic and behavioral standards

NOTE: The below lists are not ranked in order of importance

Basic Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to the following:
  • Supervise students who have been assigned
  • Distribute assignments from the teachers to the students
  • Assist the students as needed with their course work
  • Understand and maintain the academic and behavioral standards set for the students by the Principal and Administration
  • Coach students in problem solving and social skills
  • Provide crisis intervention assistance as directed by the Principal
  • Conduct individual or group advising sessions related to behavior
  • Exercise diplomacy in answering questions and resolve situations involving students parents public and/or school staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Attend in-services meetings and/or training programs as required by Board Policy the Superintendent or his/her designee
  • Perform home visits as required by he Superintendent or his/her designee
  • Ride the bus with students as required by the Superintendent or his/her designee
  • Monitor after school student interventions as required by the Superintendent or his/her designee

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interact with public in official capacity when required
  • Interact with Superintendent and/or Board of Education and present information as requested
  • Serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as responsible citizens
  • Respond to routine questions and requests in a timely appropriate manner
  • Establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships
  • Attend professional growth seminars workshops etc. to keep current on relevant issues
  • Discipline students when necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designee

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Associates Degree or documented experience in supervising students with assignments and behavioral standards in a K-12 public school environment
  • Ohio Department of Education - Educational Aide Certificate
