Beauty and Barber Staff

The Beauty Shop Stylist is responsible for providing a variety of hair and beauty services to residents while maintaining a clean safe and welcoming salon environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working with older adults and understands the importance of providing services with patience dignity and respect.

• Provide professional hair and beauty services to residents including:
  • Haircuts and trims
  • Shampooing and styling
  • Sets and blow-drying
  • Perms and other approved salon services
  • Other beauty services within your scope of practice
• Schedule and maintain resident appointments.
• Provide services in a friendly respectful and professional manner.
• Maintain a clean organized and sanitary beauty shop.
• Follow all applicable infection-control sanitation and safety requirements.
• Properly clean and sanitize equipment and work surfaces between residents.
• Communicate respectfully with residents families and facility staff.
• Demonstrate patience and compassion when working with residents who may have mobility cognitive or other limitations.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and follow facility procedures.
• Help create a positive salon experience that promotes resident dignity confidence and quality of life.

• Current Indiana Cosmetology License or other applicable state-required credential.
• Previous experience as a hairstylist/cosmetologist preferred.
• Experience working with older adults is a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Dependable professional and organized.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with facility staff.
• Compassionate and comfortable working with residents in a long-term care setting.
