Job Summary

Bakery Assistant Manager Full Time Hourly Estimated pay range $21-25 depending on qualifications and experienceMust be at least 18 years and olderPosition Description:With limited supervision the Bakery Assistant Manager supports the overall operation of the Bakery Department including driving sales achieving profit goals and maintaining exceptional product quality. Departments typically generate between $2.5 million and $7 million annually depending on store location. This role ensures bakery products are prepared and presented according to company standards and customer preferences while fostering a safe clean and team-oriented day-to-day::Operations & Merchandising:Ensure displays are fully stocked properly rotated and visually appealing with accurate signageMonitor and execute daily production plans to meet business needsMaintain high standards of product quality freshness and presentationPromote products through suggestive selling and cross-merchandising techniquesReview sales reports to identify trends and opportunities to achieve departmental goalsPlace vendor orders and manage product transfers as neededInventory & Financial Performance:Participate in monthly quarterly and annual inventory processesSupport shrink control and product management to maximize profitabilityLeadership & Team Development:Assist in recruiting hiring training and developing team membersProvide ongoing coaching and feedback including 90-day and mid-year Performance ChatsPartner with the Department Manager on annual performance appraisalsCreate and manage team schedules in the HRIS system at least two weeks in advanceEnsure accurate timekeeping for weekly payroll processingLead and participate in department communication meetingsAddress performance and disciplinary matters in a timely professional mannerEnsure compliance with all employment laws and company policiesSafety & Compliance:Maintain compliance with all health codes food safety sanitation and safety regulationsEnsure daily and periodic cleaning tasks are completed to standardRepresent the department at monthly Safety Committee meetingsIndustry Engagement & Continuous Improvement:Attend department BASH and strategy meetingsStay current with industry trends by participating in trade shows and one idea tripsSupport innovation and continuous improvement within the departmentAdditional Duties:Perform other tasks and special projects as assignedWhat you bring to the team:Must be at least 18 years of ageHigh School Diploma or equivalent required13 years of bakery food service or supervisory experience preferredWorking knowledge of bakery operations including cakes breads bagels donuts and specialty itemsAbility to safely operate bakery equipment such as ovens and mixersStrong customer service and interpersonal skillsProficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Excel Word Outlook) and inventory/order systemsStrong organizational communication and time management skillsAbility to delegate tasks provide clear direction and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentWorking Conditions :Work time is split between office duties and the bakery production floorEnvironment includes exposure to refrigerated conditions due to perishable productsRequires frequent standing walking bending lifting pushing and pullingAbility to lift up to 100 pounds and occasionally climb or reachMOOVelous BenefitsWhy Youll Love Being Part of Our Team!Were all about creating a workplace thats rewarding supportive and just plain fun.
