Position Overview:

The Baker prepares a wide range of baked goods for further production or direct sale to guests.

Duties &Responsibilities:

• Produce high-quality bakery items including cakes cupcakes sweet breads dessert bars cookies pies bagels Danishes and rolls from Wrights Gourmet House recipes.
• Decorate baked products using glaze icingand other toppings to achieve a finished appearance.
• Make dessert trays cookie trays breakfast trays and otherspecialtytrays.
• Cut and wrap dessert bars Bundt cakes bread loavesand pies.
• Coordinate with the other culinary stations and guest services department providing the information and lead time they need to prepare menu items for on-time service.
• Prepare each order the Wright way meeting the guestsexpectations. Always have the order ready on time.
• Use and follow recipes for every batch measuring each ingredient precisely.
• Ensure quality and portion size over maximizing yields. Minimize needless waste.
• Promptly greet andassistguests and visitors anywhereon-premises. Share general information on Wrights: history business hours and directions.
• Follow safe food handling and sanitation procedures; assist all other areas with meeting these standards.
• Maintain ones workstation and other associated areas in a clean safe and organized condition;assistall other areas with meeting these standards.
• Keep all equipment and tools in peak condition including routine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Create a clean safeexciting and welcomingatmospherefront-of-the-house and back-of-the-house.
• Cheerfullyparticipatein a workplace filled with warm greetings friendly smiles helping hands and freely shared knowledge.
• Perform daily and weekly administrative tasks e.g. checklists station counts etc.
• Assistand support other departments to ensure every guest gets the Wrights Experience and meets required standards and performance levels.

Key Skills & Requirements

• Experience within the past twelve (12) months as a baker for a high-volume restaurant catering company bakery or similar food service operation.
• Operate a variety of equipment and tools including ovens mixers scales & measuring tools portioning machines packaging machines knives and spatulas.
• Operate a variety of culinary equipment and tools whenassistingother stations.
• Full-time must be available to work six (6) days a week and mandatory overtime during peak season and other special occasions. Part-time must be available at least three (3) days a week.
• Communicate with effective verbal and written skills withguests managers andstaff.
• Calm flexible demeanor for handling the pressure of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of tasks especially duringhigh-volumetimes.
• Solve problems with minimal disruption toguests; seekassistanceas needed to ensureguests receivea great experience.
• ServsafeCertifiedor Safe Staff (we provide training).
• Work productively with limited supervision.
• Attentive to detail.
• Basic math skills.

Physical Requirements:

• High standardsof personal hygiene& appearance.
• Balancing twisting bending stooping walking reaching lifting pulling pushing and climbing.
• Frequently lifting or movingheavy itemsup to50 pounds.
• Standing in place forlong periodsof time.
• Comfort with working in avery fast-pacedcrowded environment with co-workers and guests.
• Must be ableto tolerateconsiderable exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures fumes smoke cold unpleasant odorsand loud noise.
