Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):

Class Assistant helps take attendance demonstrates steps assists students during class practice and runs practice sessions outside of regular class hours.

Transferable Skills: Transferable skills provided by this position include: communication collaboration listening leadership problem-solving adaptability punctuality responsibility attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate movement

• Encourage and help students learn movement during class

• Tracking student attendance and occasionally communicating attendance record with students

• Organize and lead practice sessions

Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)

• Intermediate/Advanced Modern Dance experience and ability to demonstrate movement

• Teaching/Leadership experience for running practice sessions

• Must be available during class periods

Physical and Environmental Factors:

This position requires crouching kneeling/crawling stooping twisting/pivoting climbing/balancing reaching overhead grasping/handling pushing/pulling and lifting objects up to 20 lbs. to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise to perform the essential functions. Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
