7 Hours Daily (FT) / 182 Days (Full School Year)

Summary:

To assist in providing a well-organized and smoothly functioning classroom environment that reflects the Aviation industry allowing students to fully benefit from the instructional program and available resources.

Job Qualifications:

1. Must have graduated from high school. (Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred.)
2. Minimum of two (2) years (4000 hours) of recent and relevant work experience in an aviation maintenance-related environment military or civilian.
3. Technical knowledge skills and training in aviation maintenance and aircraft electronics (avionics) required.
4. Must hold a professional industry certification in aviation such as:
   • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA): Private Pilot Certificate or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic License.
   • Department of Labor (DOL): Aircraft Mechanic Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic or Aircraft Electrician certification.
   • National Center for Aerospace & Transportation Technologies (NCATT): Aircraft Electronics Technician (AET) certification.
5. Preferred additional certifications/credentials may include:
   • FAA Private Pilot Certificate
   • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate
   • FAA Airframe & Powerplant License
   • FAA Inspection Authorization
   • DOL Aircraft Engine Mechanic certification
   • NCATT Aircraft Electronics Technician certification
   • FAA Drone Operator License
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students staff counselors industry partners and the general public.
7. Demonstrated ability to work with culturally diverse student populations including economically disadvantaged students.
8. Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions in order to support student learning and complete job responsibilities.
9. Ability to work collaboratively with instructors and support instructional activities.
10. Ability to organize prioritize work independently maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
11. Ability to be flexible and demonstrate initiative discretion and integrity.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assists in providing specialized instruction in Aviation Maintenance Avionics and related Career Technical Education (CTE) areas.
2. Assists students on a one-to-one or small group basis as directed by the CTE Instructor.
3. Uses remedial and tutorial techniques to support student learning and skill development.
4. Assists the CTE Instructor in maintaining a positive learning environment supporting classroom management and maximizing student success.
5. Supports the safe and proper use of aviation tools equipment machinery and instructional materials.
6. Assists with the setup operation and maintenance of equipment used in the instructional process.
7. Monitors students during classroom laboratory field trip and work-based learning activities to ensure safety and engagement.
8. Provides supplementary support to students including assistance with assignments assessments and skill development activities.
9. Assists students with industry certification preparation and career-related activities.
10. Attends staff meetings professional development opportunities and other required meetings.
11. Performs other duties as assigned by the Administration.
