All About You

The Aviation Applications Engineer implements a commercial strategy to support new opportunity products within the Aviation business sector. The Aviation Application Engineer is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on aviation products supporting the development of their specifications to support customer opportunity. The Aviation Application Engineer serves as the technical sales lead on all new and developing business. The Aviation Application Engineer will work with internal stakeholders to solve problems on behalf of our customer base as needed and is expected to develop an external network in order to leverage connections for additional market intelligence. The Aviation Application Engineer is expected to develop a solid understanding of FAA and EASA requirements that pertain to existing and future products and participate on committees to help develop and understand specifications guidelines and requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Will engineer and document new Aviation battery specifications as required and in accordance with industry standards. Will develop Installation and Test Procedures as needed. Will work with customers engineering quality and manufacturing to improve existing specifications documentation procedures and practices.
  • Will support the Sales Team in providing complete solutions at the best cost and lead-time. Will propose solutions for battery specification/applications and work with OEMs or subcontractors to produce such items at lowest cost (given required lead time). Will support the sales team with technical expertise as well as with documentation reports and data with no ECR related to initial inputs.
  • Will assist in a holistic approach in the growth and nurturing of our relationships with Key Accounts (Sales Applications Engineering Program Management Product & Technical support).
  • Will contribute to Aviation Sales & Marketing Initiatives (E.g. retrofits and upgrade initiatives repair services increased distribution channels etc.).
  • Will retain Customer confidence and support by being the Subject matter Expert (SME) interface to the customer.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree with emphasis on electrical systems or electronics with an aviation application.
  • 5 years technical product experience preferably for the aviation industry.
  • Must be ready to travel 25%-50% of the time.

Preferred Competencies

  • Aeronautical knowledge.
  • Extensive battery or electronics experience.
  • Prior experience working with large OEMs.
