This positionplays a key role in supporting thedigital learning environmentand instructionalmedia needs of instructors and studentsata Polytechnic University.
This position will provide support forinstructional and classroom audio-visual (AV) technologyincluding recommending solutions troubleshooting providing training and consultation services.The AV Technicianassistswith planning and designing AV technologies in all classrooms labs and meeting rooms.This position will also provide video support in learning environments.UW-StoutPolytechnicinvites applicants who have strengths in communication training collaboration and emergingAVtechnology strategy.This position reports directly totheTeachingLearningandTechnology Director.

Thisposition requiresworkto be performedon location at the Universityof Wisconsin-Stout Polytechniccampus in Menomonie Wisconsin.

- Integrates maintains monitors and troubleshoots moderately complex routine and varied services systems networks applications and instructional technology including control systems and hardware for audio-visual (AV) videoconferencing and distance education following established processes and procedures.
- Provide technical skills to troubleshoot audio video media controlsystemsand instructional media hardware in the learning environment asrequired.
- Provide media and AV solutions that support instructional activities ensure alignment with pedagogical goals and technology standards.
- Maintains and operates technical systems and infrastructure.
- Participate in campus projects and initiatives by representing instructional technology design needs and principles.
- Consult with faculty staff and students to plan design and implement AV and AI-enabled instructional technologies for classrooms and learning spaces.
- Consult with faculty staff and students on audio video and visual design and production strategy.
- Provide training to instructors and staff on instructional technology applications systems media hardware and software and best practices that support the digital learning environment.
- Participates in the evaluation of new vendor software releases and impact. Documents and communicates system enhancements and changes.
- Assists with the planning and coordination of system resources upgrades security implementations and integrations.
- Configures maintains upgrades develops and tests IT systems infrastructure and services in alignment with industry best practices.
- Create and update instructional support documentation and materials including tutorials user guides and other web-based resources to facilitate technology adoption.
- Assist in the planning development and management of classroom media strategies including scheduling maintenance lifecycle replacement and resource allocation.
- Maintain inventory for replacement as well as upgrade AV and media equipment in learning spaces ensuring compliance with university standards and readiness for instructional use.
- Contribute to the assessment and evaluation of instructional technology effectiveness gathering feedback and making recommendations for improvements.
- Partner with stakeholders to pilot the implementation of AI-enabled and emerging instructional technologies to improve reliability accessibility and learning outcomes.
- Familiarity with AI and its use in higher education technology software and hardware.
- Serves as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders to identify needs provide solutions and communicate issue updates and resolutions.
- Assists with the planning and implementation of small to medium technical projects as needed.
- Perform related work as required to support the activities of Learning Technology Services (e.g. video support AV and media classroom technology Learning Glass etc.)
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with emerging trends in instructional technology to continuously enhance the universitys learning environment.
- This position will require the ability to move and carry equipment (up to 30 lbs.) and navigate environments when installing will require standing for periods of time. This work will include climbing ladders and the use of power tools.
Learning Technology Services (LTS) is a unit with the Learning and Information TechnologyDepartment and serves as an instructional center focusing on teaching andlearning forinstructors of the University of Wisconsin-StoutPolytechniccommunity. Offering a range of services LTS partners with facultyand staffto provideexpertisetrainingand support toassistinstructors with incorporating instructional technology into their teaching practice and creating technology-enhanced instructional materials.

This position works closely with faculty and staff across the institution. The ability to participate in on-site campus-based activities is required.

Associates degreeor equivalent experience.
Familiarity withemerging AV technology.
Experience withpresentation technology using controlsystems such as CrestronExtronandQ-SYS.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to troubleshootand solveproblems.
Familiarity with distance educationaudio/video conferencing systems.
Experience working with the administration of video conferencing platforms such asTeamsZoom.
Experiencetrainingthe use of classroom technology.
Experience working with secure network enterprise systems.
Understanding ofinstructional learning principles.
Multimedia support experience preferably withhigher education.
Experience supervising others.
Demonstrated organizational skillswith theability to manage complex tasks and projects.
Demonstrated exceptional oral writteninterpersonal communication skills.
Familiarity with AIuse in higher educationtechnology.
