AV Installation Technician

Job Summary
- Install AV equipment safely and in accordance with project requirements either independently or in coordination with other technicians.
- Read and interpret AV and construction schematics accurately.
- Perform in-house and onsite rack fabrication in alignment with company and industry standards.
- Complete minor DSP and control-system changes and uploads.
- Troubleshoot advanced AV systems and resolve installation-related issues.
- Maintain working knowledge of common AV platforms and manufacturers including Crestron Extron QSC Shure Biamp BSS Cisco and Netgear.
- Provide daily project updates to management.
- Update AV flow documents daily to support post-project as-built documentation.
- Additional projects and duties may be assigned by the supervisor
- Communicates technical information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences though effective speaking listening and written communication.
- Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs
- Demonstrates tact sound judgement and composure when working under pressure meeting deadlines or addressing customer concerns
- Identifies issues gathers relevant information evaluates options and develops practical solutions

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Minimum of one year of related experience or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current drivers license with a good driving history required including no more than two minor violations and/or one major violation within the previous 12 months.
- Ability to read structured cabling physical security and AV drawings.
- Experience installing terminating and testing wiring used in professional audio/visual and physical security infrastructure including category cable coax fiber optic speaker-line XLR quarter inch and mini connections.
- Current or previous CTS certification from AVIXA required. If certification has lapsed or is not currently held certification is expected within nine months of hire. Current or previous CTS-I certification from AVIXA preferred. If certification has lapsed or is not currently held certification is expected within 24 months of hire.
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions correspondence memos diagrams and schedules.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group settings.
- Ability to perform basic math including addition subtraction multiplication division fractions decimals ratios percentages and interpretation of bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems in situations with limited standardization.
- Understanding of computers and their integration with AV and security system technologies required
- Ability to read write present and correspond proficiently in English is required
