Job Summary

Position Summary
The Automotive Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing repairing and performing maintenance on customer and dealership vehicles in a timely efficient and safe manner. Technicians must maintain high-quality workmanship while following manufacturer and dealership standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle inspections diagnostics maintenance and repairs on automotive systems including engine transmission brakes steering suspension electrical heating and air conditioning systems.
  • Use diagnostic equipment and manufacturer software to identify vehicle concerns and determine appropriate repairs.
  • Complete repair orders accurately and document all work performed.
  • Communicate findings recommended repairs and repair status with Service Advisors and management.
  • Perform warranty and recall repairs according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Conduct quality control inspections and road tests as needed.
  • Maintain productivity efficiency and customer satisfaction standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with dealership and regulatory requirements.
  • Attend manufacturer training and stay current on automotive technology and repair procedures.

Qualifications
  • Previous automotive technician experience required.
  • ASE certifications preferred.
  • Manufacturer certifications preferred.
  • Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to operate diagnostic equipment hand tools and shop equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequently stand walk bend stoop kneel crouch and work in confined spaces.
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally more with assistance.
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles and perform road tests.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to use hand tools power tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures noise levels and shop environments.
